:: INTRODUCTION ::

Raffles Hotel Singapore opened in 1887 in a rather somber-looking old bungalow known as Beach House. Declared a National Monument in 1987, the Hotel has grown from strength to strength. With its restoration and reopening in 1991, Raffles Hotel today stands as a jewel in the crown of Singapore's hospitality industry, renowned and loved for it's inimitable style and unsurpassed excellence in service and facilities. One of the few remaining great 19th Century hotels in the world. It became a National Monument upon its centenary in 1987. Surrounding Raffles Hotel are some of those great shopping centre, complex and places of interest like the War Memorial Park.

:: RESTAURANTS & DINING ::

Ah Teng's Bakery - Delicious pastries, cookies, cakes as well as steaming hot Dim Sum are the highlight of this cosy cafe. Perfect for an early morning "cuppa," Ah Teng's provides a warm and inviting dining experience.

Tiffin Room - Tiffin Curry Buffet featuring traditional Indian and Asian specialities is a hot favourite with tourists and Singapore residents alike. The Tiffin Room Buffet is available for lunch and dinner. The Tiffin Room also serves breakfast and high tea daily.

Raffles Grill - Timeless elegance characterises the Hotel's formal dining room. Raffles Grill is the Hotel's premier fine dining venue featuring French continental cuisine created by Master chef and the renowned Raffles attentive yet discreet service.

Bar and Billiard Room
Established in 1896, the Bar and Billiard Room houses two original billiard tables from the turn of the century. A continental buffet is served for lunch on weekdays while a lavish brunch is offered on Sundays. With a fine selection of martinis, single malts, cognacs, armagnacs, champagnes, ports, sherries, chocolates, coffee and Cuban cigars, it's no wonder the Bar & Billiard Room is also known as "the Connoisseur's Haven". In the evenings, a trio entertains with light jazz music.

Raffles Cafe - Fast becoming a favorite meeting place for the hip artists; busy executives; and sophisticated shoppers from within Raffles Hotel Arcade, Raffles Cafe – Coffee & Wine Bar offers an excellent selection of fine coffees, teas and interesting New World wines, a light snack menu as well as all time favourite versions of the humble cookie. Located on the ground level of the Raffles Hotel Arcade.

Empire cafe - Styled like a coffee house typical of 1920s Singapore, Empire cafe serves both international staples and local favourites.

Raffles Courtyard - Built in the tropical setting of an open courtyard, Raffles Courtyard, a timeless structure with white arches flanked by tropical palms and native plants, keeps alive the feeling of ‘Old Singapore’. A colonial cocktail bar, a traditional alfresco kitchen, table umbrellas and live music make the courtyard a pleasant place for patrons to watch the passing parade of visitors. An open air dance floor affords patrons a quick round of tango or polka in between courses. In the style of Big Bands of the past, 5-piece resident band celebrates the music of the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s daily (except Sundays) from 8 pm – 11.30pm and 8 pm – 12 midnight (Fridays and Saturdays).

Complementing the alfresco experience is the Courtyard’s New World style Mediterranean fare, featuring fresh herbs, seafood, light flavourful salads and pastas.

Doc Cheng's - This internationally acclaimed, award-winning themed restaurant features western cuisine created with an Asia twist, using the region's cooking techniques, spices and ingredients.

Long Bar Steakhouse - Located on the second storey of Raffles Hotel Arcade, adjacent to the world-famous Long Bar, Long Bar Steakhouse cleverly combines steakhouse dining with the nostalgia and simple honest flavours of early plantation fare. Inspired by legendary exploits of Frank Cavendish, an adventurous planter who retreated to Raffles Hotel every weekend in the early 1900s as a respite from the rigours of plantation life in Malaya, the house specialties are succulent prime cuts of meats and seafood, marinated with the flavours of the Orient.

Among the restaurant’s most well-kept secrets are the recipes for Doris’ "Dilly Bread" and her famous home -style mustard pickles, served at the beginning of each meal.

Empress Room - Raffles Hotel's Chinese restaurant serves superb Cantonese cuisine created by a Master chef from Hong Kong. Dim Sum is available for lunch.

Long Bar - Home of the Singapore Sling, the earthy decor of this two-storey bar was inspired by Malayan plantations of 1920's. In addition to almost every alcoholic and non-alcoholic concoction imaginable, the bar also serves traditional pub favourites that are available for both lunch and snacks. In the evenings, a seven-piece show band performs a selection of contemporary and popular hits.

Seah Street Deli
A typical New York-style delicatessen. The unique menu features a selection of American sandwiches, entrees and salads. The portions are decidedly generous and the service remarkably friendly.

Writer's Bar
Located in the lobby of the Hotel, this bar is a tribute to the writers who have stayed at the Hotel or written about it.
